About Francine
I’ve been a photographer for more than 20 years, but photography has never been only about making beautiful images.
It’s about seeing.
The way light moves across a landscape. The quiet details most people walk past. The strength and softness that can exist in a woman at the same time. The moment someone stops performing for the camera and simply becomes present.
My work has taken me from the forests and wild coastlines of the Pacific Northwest to some of the most extraordinary landscapes in the world. Through it all, I keep returning to the same thing: CONNECTION to ourselves, to the natural world, and to the moments that remind us we are alive.
When I photograph women, I create space for them to show up without needing to become anything for my camera. There is no version of you that I am trying to manufacture. I want what is REAL the movement, vulnerability, power, sensuality, imperfection and presence that are already there.
My landscape and fine art work comes from that same place. I’m drawn to wildness, texture, weather, changing light and the feeling of standing somewhere that makes me stop and pay attention.
Raw.Real.Redefined is where these worlds meet.
Women. Landscape. Art. Presence.
A body of work built from more than two decades of noticing what happens when we allow ourselves to truly see, and be seen.
